Young physicians invited to describe their first year of practice
MINNEAPOLIS, May 12, 2008—Minnesota Medicine is inviting young physicians to a round-table discussion about the first year of practice.
Young physicians are invited for dinner and conversation. It will be a time to reflect on the humor, terror, and joys of that first year.
The dinner and discussion will be held Thursday, May 29, at 6 p.m., at the MMA's offices at 2500 Godward Street NE, Suite 2500, Minneapolis.
Questions to be asked include: What surprised you about the first year? For what were you most prepared? Least prepared? What do you wish you had known then that you do know now? What might medical schools do to prepare new physicians better?
The discussion will be moderated by Jon Hallberg, M.D. Physicians' comments will be the basis for an article in the August issue of Minnesota Medicine.
The event is free of charge. To reserve a place at the table, notify Mandy Rubenstein by May 22 at (612) 362-3740 or email her at mrubenstein@mnmed.org.
If you cannot attend, but would like to share your reflections on your first year of practice, contact Carmen Peota at (612) 362-3724 or write her at cpeota@mnmed.org.
