MINNEAPOLIS, April 1, 2008—The Senate Health and Family Security Committee voted unanimously Monday to recommend for confirmation as state health commissioner Sanne Magnan, M.D.

Magnan, former president of Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement, and a member of the MMA, has been leading the Minnesota Department of Health since replacing Dianne Mandernach as state commissioner of health last November.

A vote by the full Senate on Magnan's confirmation is still to come.
