Lawmakers fail to override GAMC Veto
MINNEAPOLIS, March 2, 2010 - The DFL-controlled House was unable to peel away any Republican votes Monday to override Gov. Tim Pawlenty's veto of a bill that would temporarily save the GAMC program.
The MMA contines to oppose the 50 percent reimbursement cut included in the bill. However, the MMA did encourage members to support the effort to override Pawlenty's veto, since the proposal looked like the best chance this session for preserving this crucial part of Minnesota’s health care safety net.
The MMA also sent a letter of support to Rep. Erin Murphy, DFL-St. Paul.
