Klobuchar, and MMA President Noel Peterson, M.D. | MN Community Measurement has launched a website that allows consumers to compare average insurer payments to 110 medical groups for common services. The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) announced 39 grants Wednesday to Minnesota communities to help them fight tobacco use and obesity. The MMA lobbied for this increased public health spending in 2008 and fought to preserve it during the budget battle earlier this year. Physicians can earn up to two free CME credits for attending seminars about health care reform, electronic medical records, and coming statewide quality measures at the MMA’s 2009 Annual Meeting September 16-18 at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester. The AMA is trying to reach out to physicians to shed some light on the increasingly heated health care reform debate. At the request of the AMA, the MMA is forwarding along a letter from AMA President J. James Rohack in which he discusses the AMA's recent activities.
