Top Stories | August 2o, 2009 The MMA submitted comments and recommendations Monday on the Minnesota Department of Health draft proposal for a statewide system for measuring and publicly reporting on the quality of health care, which is required by the 2008 Health Care Reform Act. Physicians can earn up to two free CME credits for attending seminars about health care reform, electronic medical records, and coming statewide quality measures at the MMA’s 2009 Annual Meeting September 16-18 at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, DFL-Minn., is hosting a tele-town hall on health care reform Sunday, August 23, at 7 p.m. The deadline for registering for the call-in meeting is Friday, August 21. The MMA is urging physicians to contact their lawmakers and attend public hearings. The Minnesota Department of Health is providing funding for up to eight clinic-, system-, or community-based teams to attend the nationally recognized Institute for Family-Centered Care's Intensive Training Seminar in Minneapolis, October 26-29. Applications are due September 1. |
