March 17 forum for collecting race and ethnicity data
MINNEAPOLIS, March 4, 2008—The Minnesota Governor’s Healthcare Disparities Task Force will present a strategy session for clinic administrators, IT staff, quality staff and others in the process of implementing the collection of race, ethnicity and language data.
Race and ethnicity data collection in health care settings can be useful in raising awareness about the existence of disparities and developing targeted approaches to reduce disparities.
Topics for the forum will include lessons learned by health care organizations that have been involved in collecting information from their patients to improve quality and reduce health disparities.
The forum, the first of a series of three, will be held March 17 from 12:30 p.m.to 5 p.m., at HealthPartners Conference Center, 8170 33rd Avenue South, Bloomington, MN 55425.
