CME presentation: "Medical Staff Bylaws and Self-Governance"
MINNEAPOLIS, February 5, 2008 UPDATE—Reminder: the MMA's Organized Medical Staff Section is hosting is hosting a CME session on "Medical Staff By-Laws and Self-Governance: Advocating for Patients and Physicians," to be held March 13.
Presenter for the session will be Elizabeth A. Snelson, Esq., legal counsel to the Medical Staff.
Included in the presentation will be:
- The pros and cons of different approaches to reviewing and updating bylaws.
- The meaning and significance of the revised Joint Commission Medical Staff Bylaws Standard MS.1.20, as it relates to protecting medical staff self-governance.
- Using model bylaws to help medical staffs and hospitals meet the new medical staff bylaws standard.
The 6 p.m. presentation will be preceded by registration at 5 p.m. and dinner at 5:30 p.m. The presentation will be two hours long.
It will be held at Broadway Place West's Nokomis Room at 1300 Godward St. NE, Minneapolis, 55413.
