Kellogg Health Scholars program invites applicants
MINNEAPOLIS, December 26, 2007—The Kellogg Health Scholars Program is accepting applications for postdoctoral fellowships in the area of health care policy.
The recently reengineered program will provide a comprehensive approach to achieving a closer connection between scholars and those engaged in community, policy-making, policy advocacy and practice.
Deadline for applying is January 8, 2008, 10:59 p.m. CST.
From the Kellogg Health Scholars website:
The new post-doctoral program combines two prior highly successful Kellogg-funded programs: the Community Health Scholars Program (CHSP) and the Scholars in Health Disparities Program (SHDP).
These two programs seek to create a a movement for the elimination of health disparities and the securing of equal access to the conditions and services essential for the achievement of healthy communities.
The Kellogg Health Scholars Program consists of two tracks and offers two-year postdoctoral fellowships at eight training sites.
Six fellowships are in the Community track and seven fellowships in the Multidisciplinary track.
The Community track, based upon the Community Health Scholars Program, highlights community-based participatory research and relationships between academe, community and public health practice. The Multidisciplinary track, based upon the Scholars in Health Disparities Program, highlights a multi-disciplinary approach to studying the social determinants of health disparities.
All scholars will participate once a year in a networking meeting/workshop at which policy and practice experts from the affiliated policy development/advocacy organizations, public health agencies and Community leaders will share their expertise with the scholars and the scholars will share their work with each other and with the Program’s National Advisory Committee.
