Statewide health care quality reporting is here, and it’s time to report your clinic’s information. As part of the 2008 Health Care Reform Act, starting in 2010 all Minnesota physician clinics will be required to submit quality data about clinical outcomes, use of health information technologies, and care delivery.

Clinic visits

Schedule a personalized presentation for your clinic staff to learn about the state requirements. Visits can be in-person or by web or teleconference. For more information call Dennis at the MMA at 612-362-3745 or dgerhardstein@mnmed.org.

Registration

All clinics are required to register with the Minnesota Department of Health, MDH, by February 10, 2010. For online registration with MN Community Measurement click here.

Measures

The reporting project will start by collecting data about diabetes and cardiovascular care. The project will use measures that most clinics already voluntarily use in partnership with MN Community Measurement. All clinics will have to complete a health information technology (HIT) use survey. The Commissioner of Health selected these measures based on the recommendations of work groups that included representation from health care providers, health plans, employers and consumers and from measures that are already reported.
