The Minnesota Medical Association held its 2006 Annual Meeting from Sept. 14 to Sept. 15 in Minneapolis.
The meeting, the 153nd in the MMA's history, featured the MMA House of Delegates and reference committees, MEDPAC's Annual Meeting, component medical society caucuses, the AMA Delegation meeting, an awards presentation, and the inauguration of the new MMA president.

2006 Outstanding Achievement Awards
Outstanding Achievement Awards were presented at the MMA Awards Lunch. This year, the MMA recognized physicians who have been leaders in community service, communicating with the public, and serving minority populations, as well as an outstanding student achiever. In addition, the MMA presented its first quality-improvement award to physicians committed to the pursuit of excellence in health care delivery.
