2002 Annual Meeting

The Minnesota Medical Association held the MMA 2002 Annual Meeting from Sept. 25 to 27 in Brooklyn Park, Minn. MMA members and delegates came from across the state to attend.

The meeting, the 149th in the MMA's history, featured meetings of the MMA House of Delegates and reference committees, MEDPAC's Annual Meeting, component medical society caucuses, the AMA Delegation meeting, an awards presentation, and the inauguration of the new MMA president.
Attendees elected the MMA's new officers and voted on reports and resolutions offered. Action was taken on more than 40 resolutions.

Reports and Resolutions

Read the reports and resolutions to the MMA House of Delegates. Resolutions had to be submitted by members of the House of Delegates, members of the Board of Trustees, component medical societies, specialty societies represented on the Council of Specialty Society Presidents, committees or sections of the association.

Elections

Delegates elected MMA officers and the Minnesota delegation to the American Medical Association. The MMA Board of Trustees accepted a slate of nominees from the Nominating Committee, but nominations remained open through the first session of the MMA House of Delegates. Awards

Awards were presented at the MMA Awards Lunch. The awards available included the Community Service Award, "Stop The Violence" Award, Physician Communicator Award, Excellence in Medical Journalism Award, Sova Award, the MMA Medical Student Section's Medical Student Award, and Minority Service Award.
